Start with the work your team needs to do

A useful application starts with a clear task: collecting a request, finding a document, preparing a report, following up on a customer or checking a system. We begin by mapping the people, information and decisions involved. That helps identify what can be configured in existing software and where a custom application is worth building.

Web applications and customer portals

Bring forms, accounts, files, status updates and reporting into one workflow. We can build for staff, customers or both, with desktop and mobile browser access appropriate to the task.

Integrations and internal tools

Reduce repeated entry between existing systems. We review available APIs, data formats, permissions and error handling before agreeing how an integration should work.

AI features with a defined purpose

Use AI for a specific job, such as summarizing a document, helping someone practise a language or preparing a draft for human review. Our AI services cover training, application development and workflow agents. Model choice, data handling and review requirements are part of the project scope.

How a software project moves forward

  1. Describe the problem. Share the current workflow, who uses it, typical volumes and the point where work slows down. Example forms, spreadsheets and screens help make the requirements concrete.
  2. Agree on a first release. Define the essential tasks, data access, integrations and acceptance criteria. Features that can wait should have a clear place in the plan.
  3. Review working software. Check the main workflow on the devices your team uses. Test permissions, errors and recovery as well as the successful path.
  4. Prepare for launch and support. Agree on hosting, backups, monitoring, documentation, ownership and maintenance before the application goes live.

Should you use an existing product or build custom software?

What should I prepare before contacting MicsTec?

  • The task you want to improve and the people who do it.
  • Your current tools and the data the application needs.
  • A description of a successful first release.
  • Any fixed deadline, budget range or hosting requirement.

You do not need a completed specification. Avoid sending passwords, customer records or confidential files in the initial enquiry; describe the workflow first.

Can you support a business outside Toronto?

Yes. MicsTec is based in Toronto and serves businesses in Canada and the United States. We can review requirements and software remotely. Discuss any on-site work or deployment constraints when we scope the project.

How are cost and timing decided?

They depend on the first release, integrations, data migration, testing and ongoing support. We review those requirements before proposing a scope. If you need POS or online ordering, start with the existing product options; our IT services also cover consulting and hosting.
